Work and study programme

Since 1998 ESC Montpellier’s programme has been designed to combine work and study. This programme enables those young people for whom the cost of such studies would be prohibitive, to study for a high-level qualification whilst working and without the burden of tuition fees.

Today ESC Montpellier is still the only Business Schools in France to offer a complete work-based five year higher-education qualification (fr. Bac+5) which is State recognised and a Master level award.

The ‘ESC Apprenticeship programme’ is reserved for candidates who have a qualification obtained after 2 years of higher education (fr. Bac+2) involving apprenticeship. There is a designated competitive examination for these candidates.

The training period - 3 years – makes for progressive work-based learning and exposure to a wide range of work situations.

To make the most of industrial experience acquired through work-based study, ESC Montpellier operates a system whereby work-study programme students are individually monitored throughout the course and three years after they have obtained their qualification.

Monitoring support is provided in the form of personalised advise :

  • skills report
  • definition of personal and professional objectives
  • student support during in-company/training periods

Students are monitored by teaching coordinators who, during the 3 year training period, compile regular reports jointly with the student, the company and the School.
