Action-based teaching
The ESC Montpellier teaching programme favours action-based training. Consequently, ESC has developed projects which provide students with exposure to the business world throughout their study course:
PROMETHEUS project- compulsory : completed during the first year of study, this project is aimed at teaching students how to work as part of a team, construct, manage and complete a project in practical terms. Students design a project of their choice (company assignment, humanitarian project, sports or arts event, company incorporation...) for which they need to employ the techniques and management concepts studied.
KONG-ZI project - compulsory : the aim of this project, highly focused on Asian markets, is to teach second year students how to define the organisational and preparatory stages of decision making in respect of an international business project. The methodology used is based on producing a study based on team work, for either a small or medium sized business or industry, or a large corporation. Students learn how to structure their export strategy, implement basic analytical tools and elaborate a well-founded strategy.
THEMIS project -compulsory : designed for final year ESC students, this project consists of having small groups of students complete a legal project initiated by experts who are either practising lawyers or legal councils, under the supervision of a resident professor specialising in Business Law.
PHOENIX project - optional : this project involves second year students as part of their internal or external activities, and may be conducted individually or in teams. The objective of the project is to develop drive and involvement, the desire to perform and the capacity to set and meet objectives. Students are free to see through a venture of their choice, alone or with colleagues, as an association or other.
