High-level, three-dimensional training

In order to adapt its qualifications to highly functional and strategic corporate functions in the global professional environment, at ESC Montpellier industrial and international internships providing strategic support for academic training are an integral part of the programme.

The ESC study course is divided into two complementary parts, each corresponding to a specific academic objective :

  • Undergraduate Studies (1st and 2nd year ESC) : “ESC management programme 1st cycle”

Leading to a L-level Bachelor of Honours Degree (BScM Honours), this Undergraduate Programme provides general academic and business training aimed at acquainting students with the fundamental principles of management.

Apart from the learning goals specific to management, the following general learning objectives will be developed during the first two years of studies:

-          Communication Skills: The students must develop their ability to transmit oral and written messages in an effective manner.

-          Team work skills: The students should develop their ability to work in teams as well as their interpersonal skills

-          Corporate social responsibility: The students must demonstrate their awareness of the social, environmental and economic role of the corporate world

-          Knowledge and understanding of company business functions: The students must be able to understand, through knowledge of the main business functions, the various operational and organisational models in companies.

-          Quantitative  skills: The students must be able to understand, analyse and use quantitative data to make decisions and present them to stakeholders.

-          Knowledge of the domestic and global business environment: The students must demonstrate awareness of the necessity to consider the company within its entirety, taking into account all the elements susceptible to affect its functioning or its activities, at a domestic or global level.

-          Entrepreneurial Spirit: The students must develop their personal initiative, adaptability and self-organisation skills.

  • Graduate Studies (3rd and 4th year ESC) : “ESC management programme 2nd cycle”

Leading to a M-level ESC Montpellier Award (fr. DESCM), the Graduate Programme concentrates on management practices, strategic knowledge and professional specialisation.

This study programme includes a one-year industrial internship (fr. AE), strategic decision making  courses (fr. EPDS) as well as professional specialisation consolidated in a subject-related internship.

All along the graduate years studies, the following general learning objectives will be developed:

-          Problem  Solving  Skills: The students must develop their thinking abilities, by using a process of identification and definition of the objective to reach, in order to determine and implement an action plan designed to bring a solution to a business problem.

-          Critical thinking skills: The students will have to be able to think rationally to interpret the data of a business situation and make the relevant decisions.

-          Interpersonal skills: The students must develop their relationship skills as well as their ability to adapt in order to interact with others and facilitate collaboration and group work.

-          Leadership skills: The students must develop their ability to anticipate, manage, facilitate change and federate people around them towards a common objective.

-          Global Responsibility: The students will have to acquire a relevant perception of the principles of Global Responsibility and will have to prepare themselves to operate in an appropriate and coherent way to guarantee the organisation's sustainability, while taking into account the international and intercultural dimension of the challenges.

-          Multidisciplinary skills: The students must master various strategic disciplines in order to develop their ability to manage cross-functional activities, taking into consideration their interaction so as to adapt them to different business contexts

-          Entrepreneurial spirit: The students must develop their ability to identify opportunities, their risk-taking capacity as well as their creativity, in order to build solutions and make relevant proposals.
